Alpha
UCC's most recently created main tier. With all of the game's most powerful threats relegated to the higher tiers, this is where the lesser used pokemon can attempt to shine. Click a pokemon's picture to go to its page.
Electruxo
As one of the few pokemon in Uranium with Scald, Electruxo enjoys getting to take advantage of its balanced stats with an emphasis on Special Defense. Be it Haze support, spreading Scald burns and Static Paralysis, or just doing good chip damage with its STABs, Electruxo is a jack of all trades, master of none.

Kinetmunk-Nuclear
A Nuclear route 1 electric rodent? Is there really anything to be scared of here when its only Nuclear move is Gamma Ray? Well, maybe. With a relatively high base speed of 90 and a slightly higher Special Attack than Eshouten, it can possibly pick up a few revenge KOs here and there if played carefully.

Splendifowl
Splendifowl, unable to use its Moody ability, instead leans on its Analytic Ability to solidify its niche. A Splendifowl that forces the opponent to switch out, lest their pokemon get KOed too early in the battle, has two options. One: Attempt to do big damage to whatever switches in to take the hit. Two: use the opportunity to clear the field of hazards with Defog.

Dearewl
Dearewl functions much like its older sibling Gararewl does in Beta, but with an added Rock typing which gives it crippling weaknesses to Ground and Fighting attacks. If it can overcome those weaknesses (and others), though, it can act as Rapid Spin support for its team and easily check pokemon unable to exploit it.

Tofurang-Nuclear
A Nuclear type with some reasonable bulk and Nuclear Slash, though the attacking stats leave something to be desired. This is a Nuclear type that will have to work really hard to get KOs consistently.

Dunsparce
Dunsparce has one job usually, and that's to try and spread paralysis with Glare so it can Flinch the opposition until they're KOed thanks to its Serene Grace Ability. As it can use Eviolite in Uranium's metagames, it can even use a bulkier EV spread and Roost to try and wall some pokemon while it does this. As a Normal type, it even offers a valuable Ghost immunity to teams. It has problems with pokemon that it can't Paralyze, however, and it lacks meaningful offensive presence if it isn't striking targets with moves they're 4x weak to.

Blubelrog
As a bulky Water type that happens to also resist Fairy moves and has access to Haze, Blubelrog is typically tasked with checking Special attacking Fairy types. Various other support options such as Toxic (Spikes) and Knock Off allow it to force progress, but a lack of reliable recovery makes it easy to wear down.

Primeape
Primeape differentiates itself from its evolution by having more immediate power under the right conditions, mostly thanks to its Defiant Ability giving it a bigger Attack boost than Empirilla's Infuriate in the short term. It's the same old Primeape that everyone knows and loves in the lower tiers of Smogon's pre-Gen 9 competitive pokemon.

Empirilla
Empirilla differentiates itself from Primape by having more consistent snowballing potential, having a higher base attack and getting more Attack (or Speed) every time it's hit by a damaging move (that makes contact). If left unchecked, it becomes incredibly dangerous very quickly.

Eshouten
Eshouten does the same thing that Dunsparce and Dunseraph do: spreads Paralysis and attempts to use Serene Grace boosted moves to Flinch everything slower than it until they're KOed. The difference is that Eshouten is much, much faster and frailer than its draconic cousins, and it's only able to inflict Paralysis with Sky Fall.

Eshouten-Mystery
Mystery Eshouten is locked into using Serene Grace for its Ability, which is great, because that's what you want on Eshouten anyways. It also gets Flash Cannon in this form only, allowing it to do its best Splendifowl impression. What's not so great is its inability to use Sky Fall, meaning it can't inflict its own Paralysis on potential targets, limiting what kinds of sets it can run.

Eshouten-Nuclear
If Nuclear Eshouten was able to use Radioacid, it would be an incredibly dangerous pokemon due to Serene Grace. But it's only able to use Gamma Ray, and it even lost its STAB on Flying type moves, so...
Despite that, its very high base speed gives it an easier time picking up revenge KOs without having to resort to a Choice Scarf like many other Nuclear types would have to.

Ludicolo
Ludicolo, much like Electruxo, is a jack of all trades, master of none. Their typings and coverage options make them vastly different pokemon however, and Ludicolo's almost unreasonable amount of utility and damage types can make it difficult to play around in theory. In practice, Ludicolo might have a hard time doing its job due to underwhelming stats that don't always complement its movepool, but it's a solid check to some select opposing Ground and Water type pokemon.

Brainoar
Our local brainfish and bigbrain meme machine has gigantic Special Defense, as well as strong setup options in Iron Defense and Calm Mind. It also has good coverage to complement its STABs and nice utility options. Were it not for its lack of reliable recovery, typically useless Abilities, and pointed weaknesses to common pokemon in the metagame, using this fish effectively wouldn't have needed to be very bigbrain at all.

Arbok
Arbok has always lived in the shadows of other Poison types, but now it's also living in its own shadow thanks to the existence of its Mega Evolution. It's not all bad news, though. Not having that added Dark type means it can better check Fairies than its Mega can, and it still has access to the potentially dangerous combination of Coil plus Gunk Shot with Earthquake as coverage.

Arbok-Nuclear
Oh, so that's what Arbok's unique pattern in Tandor looks like...I should get closer and get a picture! What do you mean it's too dangerous to do that? Wait, that thing can spit radioactive acid?!
Nuclear Arbok might have a low special attack stat compared to many other Nuclear types, but Radioacid is an incredibly spammable attack thanks to its wide one move coverage and chance to burn. On its own, this makes it a powerful revenge killer with the right support and items, and it has just enough coverage and utility to severely cripple certain checks to its Nuclear attacks.

Sponaree
Sponaree is a Sticky Web setter, but Sticky Web setters face a lot of competition in Uranium's metagames, as well as a lot of pressure from enemy Magic Bounce abusers. It's at least better than Firoke, having a little bit more bulk and speed. It also has reliable special Bug STAB in Bug Buzz and good coverage in Ice Beam. It's not all bad. It just won't fit on every team.

Pajay
Pajay is a solid check to Grass and Fairy types so long as Stealth Rocks can be kept off of its side of the field. The Fire and Flying type combination has interesting offensive and defensive applications in general, especially since this bird can pack either a Fire immunity with Flash Fire or punish contact attackers with Flame Body, but make sure your team can give it adequate support so it can do its job without issue.

Ampharos-Mega
Mega Ampharos has the highest Special Attack in the game, but no way to boost it. It also became a little slower after mega evolving. It did get a boost to its bulk and an additional Dragon typing when it Mega Evolved, which helps it if it wants to play a support role, but it also can't use Leftovers and becomes weak to other common offensive types in the metagame like Fairy and Ice.
But hey, at least it looks fabulous!

Baaschaf-Nuclear
Despite having somewhat low Speed, this Nuclear sheep has some dangerous potential thanks to a combination of its spammable Dark and Nuclear STABs with strong abilities in Moxie and Guts.

Trawpint
This birdo lookalike can utilize its balanced stats, wide coverage, and unique typing to check specific threats like Whimsicott fairly reliably. A lack of reliable recovery means it's prone to being worn down quickly if assigned a more bulky role on the team, but it has some neat utility options that it can utilize as well if it has free turns to do so.

Herolune
Herolune has three possible roles, and they're all scary in the right context. Defiant punishes Intimidate; Sticky Web; and Defog use, Mold Breaker lets it ignore opposing abilities to an extent, and Guts turns it into an incredibly powerful physical wallbreaker and status absorber. Herolune's disadvantages are that it's slow and its STABs are often resisted by common pokemon in the metagame

Herolune-Mystery
This particular Herolune form always has the Defiant Ability. As there's no highly important egg moves in its movepool, the only opportunity cost to using this particular skin is communicating that you're using Defiant at Team Preview.

Vilucard
This cat bat is a mixed attacker with Abilities that want to encourage it to use its physical attacks. Blood Lust combined with its spammable Dark STABs (particularly Drain Life) can make it difficult to chip, while Poison Touch only works with contact moves. If it dips into its Special movepool instead, however, Blood Lust will still function and it has just enough coverage to support a decent Nasty Plot set.

Vilucard-Mysetery
Mystery Vilucard is one of the more interesting Mystery Gifts to have been distributed, as it's locked to a Jolly nature and has Speed Boost as its Ability. Similar to Tracton, it can function as an effective set up sweeper that can easily snowball out of control if left unchecked thanks to its access to Bulk Up. A Nasty Plot set could also be attempted, but isn't usually recommended due to the detrimental nature.

Drilgann
Drilgann has the higest Attack in Alpha and just barely enough speed to outspeed many key unboosted threats if it's holding a Choice Scarf. Alternatively, it can attempt to wallbreak with Choice Band or Swords Dance sets, or double as a utility pokemon by removing hazards with Rapid Spin while providing Knock Off support.

Gligar
Gligar is the same as ever in Uranium as it is in the main series, acting as a potent physical tank while holding its Eviolite and being near impossible to break with Physical moves thanks to the combination of Roost and Immunity.

Gligar-Nuclear
Nuclear Gligar is the exact opposite of regular Gligar. Instead of leaning into a bulky role, it has to go offensive due to its Nuclear typing and lack of a hidden ability. Its typing is decent offensively though because it has a STAB Earthquake to pair with its Nuclear Slash. And it certainly has enough speed to make landing Super Effective hits very doable.

Sableye
Sableye is also doing the same old, same old here too. It has no reason to shift from its classic Prankster sets, acting as a general nuisance as it spreads Burns and removes items with Knock Off.

Sableye-Mystery
Mystery Sableye is the gift that gave back Recover to Sableye in the actual game, as well as some other unobtainable egg moves. There's not much of a difference competitively between this form and the normal one.

Cararalm
Cararalm is significantly faster than its evolution Cocancer, and even still has the same amount of coverage that its evolution does (minus one or two moves). It has the potential to be a dangerous Shell Smash abuser, but only time and experimentation will tell if it actually will be.

Cararalm-Mystery
Mystery Cararalm is always locked into having an Impish nature, but gains the Filter Ability, reducing all damage it takes from Super Effective attacks. If you don't mind using a neutral attack nature, this is basically a straight upgrade compared to the original form.

Corsoreef
In the depths of Alpha, Corsoreef finally has a chance to shine, no longer outclassed by the higher tiered, superior Regenerator pokemon. This is a very bulky, fairly adaptable wall with many tools to extend its longevity significantly and force progress. Reliable recovery, Regenerator, Refresh, entry hazards, Scald, high PP moves...if it weren't for the fact that Alpha has a lot of Ground and Fighting types in it and some very strong Grass types, it'd be living the dream.

Corsoreef-Mystery
A Corsoreef with a giant tree on its back? Well, it certainly looks bulkier than the original form. The problem is that it can't use Regenerator, so bulky sets for this form are limited to using Natural Cure. As for moves, both offensive and defensive sets got a little love. Bulky sets got access to the egg move Amnesia (which can also be passed to Selkid if you missed that Mystery Gift). Physical offensive sets got the egg moves Icicle Spear and Head Smash. The real reason you'd want to use this form though is the exclusive access to Trick Room, allowing Sharp Coral sets to facilitate their own speed control (assuming they don't get KOed in the process of trying to set it up).

Sableau
Sableau is Escartress lite. It can do all the same things that its evolution can, just to a lesser degree. Eviolite sets make decent walls, Smooth Rock Sand Stream sets can provide support for Drilgann, and it can even Shell Smash if it's feeling feisty and thinks it can end the game right then and there.

Sableau-Mystery
Much like its older cousin, Mystery Escartress, Mystery Sableau struggles to prove it's worth using defensively due to a lack of Shell Armor and Stealth Rock in its toolkit.

Gellin
Gellin wants to be on a Sun team to trigger its Abilities, but sun teams require a lot of substantial support to work. On top of that, the only Drought user is a Mega pokemon in a higher tier than Gellin, so Sun teams can't really exist where Gellin is unless it's a more unconventional Manual Sun team. Separate from Sun, Gellin isn't as strong, but that doesn't mean it's defenseless. Sure, its Physical stats are laughable, but that single cell organism has 120 Special Attack and STABs that complement each other well, plus some wacky coverage to catch some of its checks off guard. Underestimate a well played Gellin at your own peril.

Gellin-Mystery
Mystery Gellin is the first of its kind to be a 100% official release of its species with the Hidden Ability Solar Power, but that's not the only thing going for it. Its gift to all Gellin in December 2022 was the release of the egg moves Power Gem and Zap Cannon, while its gift to itself was access to Volt Switch and Spore! With all these tools at its disposal, there's a legitimate chance that it will actually be notably better than its original form (so long as you don't need Chlorophyll for anything). That's a first for Uranium Mystery Gifts without special abilities!

Whimsicott
Whimsicott is quite possibly the best pokemon in the Alpha tier currently. A general lack of pokemon that can comfortably stomach its STABs means that Whimsicott can adopt a more offensive role than it's typically known for, especially since it's the fastest pokemon in the tier and can use Infiltrator to bypass Substitutes and Screens. It even has coverage and utility moves to cripple all of its checks with. It's massively susceptible to status effects and is likely to be KOed by most strong, Super Effective attacks, however.

The witchy ghost returns with its classic, ghostly shenanigans. Everything from set up sweeping to utility attacker sets are possibilities with this pokemon.

Barand
Barand is a Tough Claws attacker with paper thin defenses and a huge Attack stat. Access to Extreme Speed makes revenge killing it without taking significant damage in return difficult, and the rare Dragon Dance can turn this Dragon into a game ending threat if not dealt with swiftly.

Barand-Nuclear
What if we took a glass cannon pokemon and gave it the Nuclear type and Nuclear Slash? For better or worse, that description fits Nuclear Barand to a T. As it completely lacks access to Extreme Speed, Nuclear Barand lives and dies by its item choice or getting lucky and setting up with Dragon Dance without getting KOed in the process.

Glavinug
As a bulky Water type, Glavinug's pretty decent. The combination of Natural Cure, Recover, and high Special Defense makes it hard to take down without strong, Super Effective hits. On the other hand, Glavinug also sees a lot of success as an offensive Ice type due to the combination of Snow Warning, STAB Blizzard, and high Special Attack. They're two sides of the same coin, and it can be hard to tell which one you're going to be dealing with in Team Preview.

Glavinug-Mystery
On the flip side, Mystery Glavinug is locked into using the Natural Cure Ability, and thus cannot utilize the 100% accurate Blizzards that a Snow Warning Glavinug can. It can, however, exclusively use Venoshock and Tickle as a trade off, giving it some extra tools for handling specific threats.

S51
S51-A's younger sibling is capable of many of the same things their evolution is in theory, but is much more reliant on being able to take hits due to their lower offensive stats. As such, S51 hates any possibility of taking a Knock Off and losing its Eviolite, and also struggles to force progress against pokemon that can take advantage of its status moves and Rapid Spin. It can still be a reliable pivot and check to several threats if played carefully, though.

S51-Mystery
As this form of S51 is locked into using the Analytic ability and a Modest nature but lacks the meaningful offensive stats of its evolution, you're probably better off using the regular form of S51. This one sure looks cute though, and it gave all S51 access to Barrier, Disable, Heal Block, and (Gen 6) Teleport in-game!

Coatlith
As the only Defog user in the game that isn't weak to Stealth Rock (not counting Raffiti), Coatlith can act as a hazard remover on teams that can support it sufficiently. Without good support, it struggles to do its job both offensively and defensively due to its awkward typing having some severe weaknesses both offensively and defensively.

Dermafrost has seen some reasonable success in Alpha as a Physical tank and hazard cleaner. A strong offensive STAB combo, access to Rapid Spin, and strong defensive abilities is a solid combination, even if it is 4x weak to Steel and Fighting type moves.

Miasmedic
Miasmedic does much the same things that Aromatisse does (namely being a bulky cleric), but has an added Poison typing and Abilities that actually do something in 6v6 Singles. This has pros and cons, greatly altering the types of pokemon that it is able to check safely. However, it's cursed with being a Physical Fairy type with no Physical Fairy STAB.

Winotinger
With Magic Guard and mixed attacking stats, Winotinger is able to attack from either the Physical or Special side, and has no issues with running moves and items that would normally cause it to hurt itself. Alternatively, it can also use Magic Guard and its large HP stat in combination with Final Gambit to take out any one non-ghost pokemon on the opposing side.

Winotinger-Mystery
This form of Winotinger trades Magic Guard and its normal Egg Moves for Pixilate and different kinds of 'Egg Moves' (Softboiled and Egg Bomb). It has more powerful Fairy STABs and reliable recovery, but is that worth not having Magic Guard?

Espeon
A fast, powerful special attacker with Magic Bounce, Espeon utilizes its unique traits to either act as a reliable Screens setter or a difficult to stop setup sweeper. General frailty and a weak defensive typing that makes it vulnerable to priority and Pursuit make its job hard, though.

Umbreon
As the eeveelution known for having high defenses on both sides of the spectrum coupled with a good defensive typing, Umbreon has an invaluable place in the metagame as a solid check to offensive pokemon spamming Psychic, Ghost, and Dark moves. On top of that, the combination of Synchronize, Heal Bell, and Wish makes it a strong cleric that's able to punish other passive pokemon for spamming status inflicting moves.

Raffiti
As Uranium's resident Sketch artist, Raffiti is capable of many things. And unlike its main series counterpart, Smeargle, it has the stats to attempt to fill an offensive role. Not to say that it can't fill a support role. The only limits to what Raffiti is able to do are its stats, the moves available in the game, and your imagination.

Gargryph
This gargoyle pokemon has the unique Ability Rebuild, which heals 1/8 of its HP every time it goes a turn without taking direct damage from an attack. Combined with its incredible defense and passable special defense, it can be a difficult wall to KO, and it has plenty of status moves to use when it isn't trying to recover its HP passively. Running Substitute or Protect on it is practically a requirement to get the most out of Rebuild, however, meaning it usually only has 3 moveslots to dedicate to making progress in a battle.

Gargryph-Mystery
This teaser for Uranium's postgame released the egg moves Bulldoze, Curse, Counter, and Skull Bash for all Gargryph, and it is capable of all the same things that regular Gargryph is, so use whichever one you think looks cooler.

Dramsama
This apparently flightless bird is actually a master of Illusions, able to disguise itself as another pokemon to create opportunities to blast holes in the opposing team. As a Ghost type, it also provides a valuable immunity to Fighting type moves and Rapid Spin. It is on the frailer side, however, and requires careful play and good management of the last slot in the team to get the most out of it.

Dramsama-Mystery
This witch with an unreasonably large hat cannot use Illusion like the regular form, but it did give all Dramsama access to Telekinesis and Yawn. As it is locked to using Synchronize with a Timid nature, there's not much reason to use it over the regular form.

Chainite
Chainite's main role is as a very powerful Pursuit trapper with both Shadow Sneak and Knock Off, forcing Dark and Ghost weak targets into checkmate situations. It's slow, though, and its good matchups are not plentiful.

Chainite-Mystery
This Chainite is locked to an Adamant nature, and released Hypnosis, Confuse Ray, Nightmare, and Confusion into the wild. Of those, Hypnosis can be a valuable tool for temporarily disabling an opposing pokemon (if it hits).

Anderind
Anderind has a strong offensive typing in Ice and Ground, but has awkward abilities to play around in Rivalry and Snow Warning. Teams that can build around its downsides will have a strong offensive force backing them up, though.

Anderind-Mystery
Mystery Anderind cannot use egg moves, and thus loses out on access to very important tools in Fake Out and Ice Punch. It is thus a strict downgrade in terms of available moves.

Skelerogue
Skelerogue is unique in that its STAB combination is not only unresisted, but its Scrappy Ability allows it to hit Ghost types with both of them no matter what. This gives it a safety net of sorts that makes both STABs more spammable than normal. It still wishes its most reliable STAB moves had a little more power behind them, but it's more than able to inflict significant chip damage on the opposing team if given the chance.

Stenowatt
Stenowatt has two very strong abilities that define how it plays in very different ways. Speed Boost sets augment its already high speed, turning it into a powerful setup sweeper with either Tail Glow or Swords Dance that can potentially snowball out of control. On the other hand, its Acceleration Ability gives its physical sets more immediate firepower (pun intended) when using its Priority moves to pick off weakened targets. Both are good, and it's a strong offensive presence right up until the recoil from Wild Charge KOs it.

Majungold
Those thick arms aren't just for show! Majungold is a beefy boy (or girl). With both high attack and HP and two very strong offensive STABs, this pokemon is able to both take a lot of punishment and dish a lot of it out, especially since both of its Abilities make it more difficult for random effects to hobble it.

Majungold-Mystery
While this special skin for Majungold isn't quite as thick looking, it does still have the same stats. The main differences are being locked to the Battle Armor Ability, locked to an Adamant nature, and having exclusive access to Smack Down in exchange for being unable to use egg moves.

Hagoop
Hagoop works very similarly to its evolution Haagross, just with a greater dependence on its item due to needing to hold an Eviolite to get the most out of it. It works as an excellent check to various Special attackers thanks to its stat distribution, access to Regenerator, and strong pivoting move Volt Switch.

Hagoop-Mystery
As this version of Hagoop is locked into using the Gooey Ability, there's little reason to use it over the base form.

Hazma
This Nuclear type pokemon actually has some really strong defensive stats and quite low offensive ones, which you would think would make it rather bad due to it being weak to every single type except Nuclear (which it is immune to thanks to its Lead Skin Ability). However, Hazma has a trick up its hazard suit. Or rather, a Trick Room. It is more than capable of taking advantage of its high bulk to take a hit and fire back with its high powered signature move, Expunge.

I AM...BECOME...DEATH!
This special Hazma skin themed after [REDACTED] has a few moves exclusive to it, and due to the species' lack of egg moves, has little reason to not be used over the base form. Access to Fallout, Sucker Punch, Payback, and Clear Smog opens up some options for emergency situations or new strategies that would not be possible otherwise.

Neopunk
Neopunk has an awkward typing and low bulk that leaves it vulnerable to common priority and Pursuit, and its Minus Ability doesn't help it in 6v6 Single Battles at all. On the other hand, it also happens to be a rare Volt Switch user and has access to strong Psychic type priority of its own in Instant Crush. It can be a strong offensive pivot on the right teams.

Terrabbit
Terrabbit is a pokemon that primarily acts as a check to physical attackers, utilizing Eviolite and its Intimidate Ability to put a hard stop on their attempts to do meaningful damage. While they're struggling to do damage, Terrabbit can then take the opportunity to use moves such as Roar, Spikes, Toxic, and Stealth Rock to support its team. A lack of reliable recovery means it's extremely vulnerable to getting worn down over longer games, however.

Terrabbit-Mystery
Mystery Terrabbit is capable of all of the same things its regular form is, minus the ability to use Egg moves. There's not much you lose out on by choosing one form over the other.

Voltasu
Voltasu is one of the game's rare Volt Switching offensive pivots, able to use STAB Electric and Flying moves to put dents in pokemon that don't resist them. It's also capable of setting up a manual Thunderstorm, causing heavy chip damage to pokemon weak to Electric and buffing the power of its own Electric attacks significantly. Low defensive stats and a weakness to Stealth Rock means it has longevity issues, however.

Voltasu-Mystery
Unique to this form of Voltasu are the moves Cotton Guard and Sweet Kiss, allowing it to attempt to take advantage of its defensive typing if it so wishes. Otherwise, it plays much like the base form does.
